If you needed an example of why the Tampa Bay Rowdies went out and acquired MD Myers this offseason as a centerpiece for its new-look attack, Saturday night\u2019s two-goal performance against Miami FC was another example.<\/p>\n
The standout forward\u2019s first goal late in the first half \u2013 a turning volley off Charlie Ostrem\u2019s angled delivery \u2013 was superb, while his second 66 seconds into the second half showed his burst to get away from a potential marker and finish with a powerful header.<\/p>\n

At just 25 years old, Myers has recorded 59 professional goals across all competitions, building on his outstanding rookie season with New York City FC II in MLS NEXT Pro to reach 40 goals in the USL Championship, USL Cup and U.S. Open Cup since the start of the 2024 season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The bad news for opponents? He\u2019s been joined in Tampa Bay by a group of players that\u2019s turning into an absolute wagon for the currently undefeated Eastern Conference leaders. The Rowdies are now the only team in the USL Championship or League One with six players that have tallied multiple goals this season, pushing the team to an average of 1.86 Expected Goals per 90 minutes this season.<\/p>\n
With a clear intent to battle for all three pieces of silverware available to the side this season, Tampa Bay\u2019s attacking depth is driving it forward toward those aims.<\/p>\n
