The first homes will be set into place at 5370 Estero Boulevard. Beach Talk Radio will be there to broadcat the event live.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike a traditional groundbreaking ceremony, Bahama Beach Club\u2019s event will celebrate the arrival and placement of the community\u2019s first modular homes as they are flown into place by crane \u2014 a powerful and emotional moment symbolizing resilience, recovery, and the continuation of a legacy deeply rooted in Fort Myers Beach history.<\/p>\n<p>Originally established in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Bahama Beach Club became known for its intimate beachfront charm and colorful bungalow-style homes that welcomed generations of families, owners, and vacationers to the island year after year. Hurricane Ian devastated the community on September 28, 2022, destroying the property but never diminishing the spirit and determination of the people committed to rebuilding it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile many projects begin with a ceremonial groundbreaking, ours is something uniquely special,\u201d said Joy Barrett, Bahama Beach Club Association president. \u201cConstruction has already been happening off-site for months, and now we finally get to watch the first homes come back to Fort Myers Beach. For our owners and families, this is more than construction \u2014 it is the return of a place filled with decades of memories and traditions\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new Bahama Beach Club was intentionally designed to honor the charm and character of the original 1970s bungalow-style community while building stronger and more resilient homes for future generations.
