MIAMI \u2014 There\u2019s been a major break in the case of Trukita Scott, the missing South Florida mother of two<\/a> who vanished in the summer of 2014. Authorities said her remains were found last Tuesday in the backyard of a home in Miami\u2019s Little Haiti neighborhood. <\/p>\n

Local 10 News was there<\/a> as Miami-Dade and Broward law enforcement agencies conducted their investigation. <\/p>\n

Scott, 24, was last seen<\/a> in Miami Gardens after leaving her job at U-Haul in Fort Lauderdale. She was reported missing that same day when she failed to pick up her kids from daycare. <\/p>\n

Now that her remains have been found, the question that still remains, 12 years after her disappearance, is who killed her and why. <\/p>\n

Scott\u2019s ex, Carl Watts, has long been the subject of suspicion. <\/p>\n

The 49-year-old is currently behind bars<\/a> for killing his wife. <\/p>\n

Watts, then 45, attacked and stabbed Shandell Harris, 30, then shot and killed her a day later at her daughter\u2019s swim lesson. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s also been romantically linked to another murdered woman. Vickie Simmons, 25, was killed at a Miami motel in 2009. Watts has not been charged with her killing. <\/p>\n
