The family who brought McDonald\u2019s to Russia has sold a two-lot waterfront estate in Palm Beach, Florida, for a total of $64.35 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Cohon family sold a corner property on Tarpon Way with an 11,500-square-foot Mediterranean-esque mansion for $37.1 million last week, after letting go of a vacant lot directly across the street for $27.25 million in March, according to listing data and property records.\u00a0<\/p>\n

McDonald\u2019s ceased operating in Russia after three decades in 2022, closing nearly 850 stores amid the war in Ukraine.\u00a0<\/p>\n The elder Cohon acquired the first lot on the lagoon side for $3.5 million in 1997 and the second 0.5-acre lot in 1998 for $2.625 million, according to property records. Together, they created a 1-acre estate at the end of a peninsula that includes water frontage on three sides and nearly a half-acre of landscaped gardens.\u00a0<\/p>\n It appears that the next owners won\u2019t enjoy both properties, however, since they were sold separately. The lot that sold in March was purchased by a Florida entity called Could Be 81 LLC, as was earlier reported in the South Florida Business Journal<\/a>. The buyer in the more recent sale was Delaware-based entity Elland Properties. Neither owner could be further identified.<\/p>\n The mansion features five bedrooms and an attached guest cottage, with arched french doors, marble interiors, a red-clay roof and expansive loggia. A brick-laid porte-cochere surrounded by manicured lawns fronts the home, while the rear features a pool with a hot tub, a sun deck and a wooden dock with a boat lift.\u00a0<\/p>\n
