ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 The Florida Highway Patrol is asking the public\u2019s help in identifying the driver who they said struck and killed a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash in Orange County. <\/p>\n
The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of John Young Parkway and Oak Ridge Road.<\/p>\n
Northbound John Young Parkway remains shut down as troopers investigate. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.<\/p>\n

According to an FHP report, a sedan was traveling northbound on John Young Parkway, south of Oak Ridge Road, in the center lane when it struck a male pedestrian who was walking midblock \u2014 outside of a marked crosswalk \u2014 in the direct path of the vehicle. The driver then fled the scene<\/p>\n
The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. <\/p>\n
Traffic homicide investigators received a possible suspect vehicle description and a photo of the suspected driver from a witness at the scene.<\/p>\n
The suspect vehicle is described as a 2024-2025 dark gray Kia K5. The suspect driver is described as a dark-skinned adult male.<\/p>\n
Investigators say the vehicle should have significant front bumper damage and damage to the undercarriage.<\/p>\n
