A Winter Park couple who swore they wouldn\u2019t consider a home outside of the city limits fell in love with an estate just a bit north, on almost two acres on Lake Maitland.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe deal with buyers all the time who say we are only looking in Winter Park. We won\u2019t look in Maitland. We won\u2019t look in College Park,\u201d said listing agent John Pinel<\/a> with Premier Sotheby\u2019s International Realty<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Luckily, these buyers agreed to look at the house on E Adams Drive and ended up loving it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis particular buyer was a Winter Park family, and they made the move from Winter Park to Maitland. It\u2019s that special of a property when you get there.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is Pinel\u2019s second time selling this home<\/a>. Back in 2015, the current sellers bought the place for $5.2 million and just sold it for $8.925 million. Pinel represented them when they bought the place, and they called him again when it was time to sell.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re on almost two acres on Lake Maitland in a pocket of Maitland that has these estate-size lots,\u201d he said, adding the home was built in 1991 with a Mizner-style Mediterranean feeling. \u201cIt has very much of a Palm Beach feel and over the 35 years, it has been extremely well-maintained, updated, and kept current.\u201d<\/p>\n

The primary residence has four bedrooms and four bathrooms across 6,634 square feet of living space. The sellers had renovated the property before putting it on the market.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The sellers] completely gutted and updated the master suite, which is the entire second floor. They updated all the bathrooms throughout the home and kept a lot of the Palm Beach elements like the arched doors,\u201d Pinel explained.<\/p>\n

The primary suite has a spa bath, a dressing room, and a rooftop terrace with glass railings. The other three bedrooms are all en-suites and are on the lower level.<\/p>\n

The home\u2019s interior is the work of late Winter Park designer Ted Maines<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you walk in the front door, what people would call a living room, we called the observatory because it has arch doors on both sides of the room, tall ceilings, big beams,\u201d Pinel said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just it\u2019s unique because it\u2019s not brand new construction, but it definitely has a timeless feel to it.\u201d<\/p>\n

An updated 1,540-square-foot guest apartment is above a media room in a detached structure.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt used to be some garages, but it was converted by the previous owner into kind of a bonus room and then this owner turned it into a listening room,\u201d Pinel told GrowthSpotter, adding the seller said it had perfect acoustics.<\/p>\n

Public records show the sellers are Jonathan and Nicole Taylor, and the buyers are Sallye and Roger Holler, III. Both seller and buyer are in the automotive industry. The Taylors own several Taurus dealerships and a venture capital firm, while Holler is vice president of the Holler Family of Dealerships.<\/p>\n

The home has a resort-style pool with a big backyard leading down to the lake and boat dock.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe sell a lot of houses on the Chain of Lakes, and all of them are different, but this one really has the feel of privacy and [being] spacious,\u201d Pinel said. \u201cYou don\u2019t feel cramped anywhere, and it\u2019s a very warm house inside. It\u2019s not huge and stark. It definitely has a warm feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n
