LUCIE, Fla. \u2014 A 49-year-old man is dead after getting hit by a car while riding a scooter, according to the Port St. Lucie Police Department. <\/p>\n<p>Police are on scene at SE Crosstown Parkway and SE Sandia Drive and have closed down the intersection to investigate. <\/p>\n<p>The scooterist was taken to the hospital for severe injuries but was pronounced dead upon arrival. <\/p>\n<p>Police are asking drivers to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PORT ST.
