According to the Democrat<\/a>, 22-year-old Carrie Sue Widick, of Jonesboro, was charged with failing to remain at the scene of a hit-and-run involving death. Widick was in the outside lane, while the cyclist was on the road\u2019s paved shoulder. Widick\u2019s vehicle \u201cfailed to maintain lanes,\u201d traveled onto the shoulder, and hit the cyclist.<\/p>\n Widick left the scene of the crash, and the cyclist was transported to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to WCTV. The wreck occurred Saturday, May 16, at 9:44 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 27 and John Yawn Place, the Democrat reported<\/a>. <\/p>\n The Tallahassee Democrat reported that the Widick fled the scene and was later found in Leon County, where deputies performed a traffic stop. She was detained by the Florida Highway Patrol and arrested on charges including suspicion of driving under the influence. <\/p>\n
