DELAND, Fla. \u2014 Jacksonville’s 2026 season came to a close on Wednesday night, falling to North Alabama, 5-0, in an elimination game at the ASUN Championship at Melching Field.<\/p>\n

The loss marked the final game for a Dolphin team that won 30 games, earned a victory in the opening round of the tournament for the third straight season and picked up multiple ranked wins throughout the year.<\/p>\n

North Alabama struck first in the second inning after a leadoff single and hit by pitch set up an RBI double down the left field line from Tyler LePage. Later in the frame, Jackson Westmoreland<\/a> added a two-run single up the middle to give the Lions a 3-0 advantage.<\/p>\n
The Lions added two more runs in the fourth on a sacrifice fly and RBI double to extend the lead to five.<\/p>\n
Brendan Holland<\/a> got the start in what was likely his final collegiate outing, allowing three runs over three innings with two strikeouts. Ben Baker-Livingston<\/a> turned in a strong relief appearance, tossing two scoreless innings while striking out two, and Dominic Pieto<\/a> closed his season with two scoreless frames and a pair of strikeouts.<\/p>\n
Jacksonville threatened in the fourth after Roger Vergara<\/a> worked a leadoff walk and Abdriel Delgado<\/a> followed with a single to center. Logan Baratta<\/a> later drew a walk to load the bases with one out, but North Alabama escaped the inning without damage.<\/p>\n
The Dolphins also put two aboard in the seventh after a Conner Spelman<\/a> single and Blake Edmonds<\/a> walk, but the Lions stranded both runners to preserve the shutout.<\/p>\n
Spelman recorded two of Jacksonville’s three hits in the contest, while Delgado added the other.<\/p>\n
