Dickinson Lofts(WITN)<\/p>\nGREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A teacher from Jacksonville is behind bars now in Pitt County on secret peeping charges. <\/p>\n
Aaron Kingsberry turned himself in around 1:30 yesterday afternoon in Onslow County. <\/p>\n
The 37-year-old Kingsberry is the band director at Northside High School in Jacksonville.<\/p>\n
A spokesman with the Greenville Police Department says on May 13th, officers received a report of suspicious activity that happened on February 7th, 2025.<\/p>\n
Police say an investigation revealed that Kingsberry had secretly recorded two people engaging in sexual activity without their consent.<\/p>\n
According to police, Kingsberry and one of the victims know each other, and Kingsberry would often stay at the apartment where the peeping occurred. <\/p>\n
Warrants say the apartment is at 550 Pitt-Greene Connector, which is where University Edge & Dickinson Lofts is located in downtown Greenville.<\/p>\n

Greenville police charged him with two counts of felony secret peeping.<\/p>\n
Police say that there is no evidence that Kingsberry has material containing child porn. There is also no evidence of any other recordings from the apartment or elsewhere at this point.<\/p>\n
Kingsberry was booked into the Onslow County jail and then transferred today to the Pitt County jail, where he is being held without bond.<\/p>\n
He is scheduled to appear in a Pitt County courtroom tomorrow. <\/p>\n
The school system says Kingsberry is on administrative leave \u201cpending law enforcement\u2019s review.\u201d<\/p>\n
Northside\u2019s principal told parents in a message that the allegations do not involve Onslow County Schools students and are not connected to school activities. <\/p>\n
Parents still have concerns.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m concerned about things like that because there are kids in here,\u201d said Bernie Vasquez.<\/p>\n
\u201cEspecially at schools, you go to work thinking everything\u2019s fine, but stuff is still happening,\u201d said Dominque McNair.<\/p>\n
East Carolina University says Kingsberry was never a university employee, but did provide support for the ECU Marching Pirates on some game days. ECU says he hasn\u2019t assisted them since 2024. <\/p>\n
Good evening. This is Principal Brad Staley. Onslow County Schools is aware of criminal charges that have been made against Northside High School employee, Aaron Kingsberry, that were publicly reported today.<\/p>\n
At this time, based on the information provided to the district by law enforcement, the allegations do not involve Onslow County Schools students and are not connected to school activities or his district duties.<\/p>\n
Mr. Kingsberry is on administrative leave pending law enforcement\u2019s review. However, Onslow County Schools will continue to cooperate with law enforcement and follow all applicable district policies and procedures. The safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority.<\/p>\n
