TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Lincoln baseball concluded its 2026 season with the second state championship in team history, beating Winter Springs 5-4.<\/p>\n
The Trojans scored all five runs in the third inning after they loaded the bases on walks. A mix of Lincoln singles and Bears errors allowed the Trojans to put up a crooked number.<\/p>\n
Winter Springs battled back in the bottom of the inning with three runs of its own. The Bears pulled to within a one-run deficit in the fifth, but that\u2019s as close as they could get. <\/p>\n
Lincoln\u2019s defense shone in the victory. On back to back plays, Chase Fuller cut down a runner at third on a tag, then the Trojans orchestrated a perfect relay started by right fielder Cody Garber to get the runner out at the plate. <\/p>\n
Fuller was called on for a five-out save, one which he delivered. <\/p>\n

Lincoln (19-16) takes on Winter Springs (26-6) in the FHSAA 5A title game. <\/p>\n
The Trojans look for their second state championship (only other one was in 2017). <\/p>\n

The team started the year 2-6 and entered the district tournament 11-14.
