The Miami Heat are reportedly the frontrunners to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo in a blockbuster trade that could send Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, the No. 13 pick, and two future first-round picks to Milwaukee.

As speculation continues to build around Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Miami Heat have quickly positioned themselves as the most aggressive and, according to betting markets, the overwhelming favorite to land the two-time MVP if he becomes available.

Per NBA writer Gery Woelfel, Miami is preparing a significant offer centered on young talent and draft capital, including:

Tyler Herro Jaime Jaquez Jr. Kel’el Ware No. 13 overall pick in 2026 draft 2031 first-round pick 2033 first-round pick

This package reflects a clear “win-now meets rebuild compensation” approach, combining established scoring with developmental upside and premium draft assets.

ESPN’s Bobby Marks also outlined a trade structure where the Milwaukee Bucks get:

Tyler Herro Kel’el Ware Nikola Jovic No. 13 overall pick in 2026 draft 2031 first-round pick 2033 first-round pick 2029 pick swap rights

Beyond the trade proposals, Miami is now reportedly viewed as the leading destination in betting markets, signaling growing confidence that Pat Riley and the Heat remain positioned to make a decisive push if Milwaukee opens the door to negotiations.

Other contenders still in the background

Even with Miami gaining traction, several other teams are expected to monitor the situation closely, including the Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, and the Los Angeles Lakers – all of whom could emerge as serious bidders depending on how the Bucks handle the situation.

For instance, the potential Lakers trade package for Giannis could include the No. 25 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, future first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, additional pick swaps, and the ability to absorb Giannis’ full contract using cap space.

There is also a separate sign-and-trade path involving Austin Reaves that has been mentioned.
