PITTSBURGH \u2013\u00a0The Panthers (32-23, 11-19 ACC)\u00a0advanced to the quarterfinal round of the ACC Baseball Championship where they will face the No. 3 seed Florida State Seminoles (38-16, 19-11 ACC) on Friday afternoon at 3 PM.<\/p>\n
This will be the first time that the two programs have met in the postseason.<\/p>\n
Pitt defeated No. 6 seeded Wake Forest, 7-4, in the second round on Wednesday night. The Panthers’ patience at the plate was paramount in round two, working eleven walks and scoring three runs on either a passed ball or wild pitch.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2022 The Panthers have won at least one game in six of the seven ACC Baseball Championships they have played in. Pitt has an 9-7 record during ACC postseason play and have advanced to the semi-final round twice since 2018. They have now won multiple games in the ACC Tournament three times.<\/p>\n
\u2022 After starting 2-0 this week, the Panthers are now the only double-digit seed remaining in the ACC Tournament.<\/p>\n

They have also eclipsed the century mark in home runs, hitting 105 this season. Pitt was one of only two teams in the nation with 350+ walks and 100+ home runs in the regular season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
