Registration is still open for a golf tourney to support Sanibel Island youths and scholarships for students.<\/p>\n
The Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club will host the 10th Annual Doc Ford\u2019s Invitational 2026 \u201cKing of the Rock\u201d Tournament next Saturday, May 30, at The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club on Sanibel. <\/p>\n
The two-person scramble will feature 18 holes of tournament golf, with registration at 7:30 a.m. and the shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s one of our three fundraisers,\u201d Kiwanian and Golf Tournament Committee Member Eric Pfeifer said, explaining that the others are the spaghetti dinner and coupon books. \u201cThis is the last one.\u201d<\/p>\n
Proceeds from the tourney will benefit the club\u2019s Scholarship Fund.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll three of our fundraisers raise money, and we give 100% of the money out to island-based organizations for kids and kids scholarships,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The format for the tournament will be single-round flighted.<\/p>\n
Players of all skill levels are welcome.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s open to anybody with a GHIN handicap,\u201d Pfeifer said.<\/p>\n
The top finishers will receive awards.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow you finish in your flight matters,\u201d he said. \u201cThe winner of each will be \u2018King of the Rock.’\u201d<\/p>\n
After the tourney, The Dunes Clubhouse will serve up lunch.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Dunes pro Mike Dopslaff will announce the flight winners during lunch,\u201d Pfeifer said.<\/p>\n
The assignment of the teams and flights will take place at a pre-tournament gathering on May 29 at 6 p.m. at The Dunes Clubhouse. Light hors d\u2019oeuvres will be provided, with a cash bar available.<\/p>\n
Doc Ford\u2019s is the presenting sponsor.<\/p>\n

The entry fee is $300 for a twosome.<\/p>\n
The deadline for player registration is Tuesday, May 26.<\/p>\n
The community is invited to sign up.<\/p>\n
