The Sanibel Recreation Department will offer its Summer Camp Program from June 8 through July 31 for children entering grades K-8 in the fall, a long-standing tradition and unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n
Taking place on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sanibel Recreation Center, it is designed to keep youths active, engaged and connected. The program blends recreation, creativity and adventure in a safe and supportive environment.<\/p>\n
There will be a range of activities for campers, including:<\/p>\n
\u2013 Daily swimming and water fun<\/p>\n
\u2013 Creative crafts and hands-on themed activities<\/p>\n
\u2013 On-island adventures, such as kayaking, golfing and beach excursions<\/p>\n
\u2013 Bounce houses, themed experiences and treats<\/p>\n
In addition, weekly off-island field trips will include:<\/p>\n
\u2013 Dave & Buster\u2019s for interactive arcade fun<\/p>\n
\u2013 Rock climbing adventures at Fort Rock and Central Rock<\/p>\n
\u2013 A trip to AMC theaters to catch \u201cToy Story 5\u201d<\/p>\n
\u2013 High-energy outings to Sky Zone and Slick City<\/p>\n
\u2013 Water-filled days at Sun-N-Fun Lagoon, Sunsplash and Brightwater Lagoon<\/p>\n
\u2013 A full-day adventure at Great Wolf Lodge<\/p>\n
\u2013 Classic fun at HeadPinz and Happy\u2019s Fun Center<\/p>\n
Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the School District of Lee County when in session, with FISH of Sanibel-Captiva supplying the meals on days when the district\u2019s summer school is not in session.<\/p>\n
Daily snacks will also be supplied.<\/p>\n
The per child cost per week is $135 for members and $170 for non-members.<\/p>\n

PROGRAM<\/p>\n In addition to the Summer Camp Program, the Recreation Department will offer its Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) Program, a valuable leadership opportunity for teens entering 9-10 grades.<\/p>\n Available from June 8 through July 31, the one-week, junior-level program will focus on personal growth and hands-on experience, allowing participants to:<\/p>\n \u2013 Assist camp counselors and mentor younger campers<\/p>\n \u2013 Develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills<\/p>\n \u2013 Earn community service hours<\/p>\n \u2013 Receive compression-only CPR skills<\/p>\n \u2013 Gain valuable work experience in a safe and supportive, home-based setting at the center<\/p>\n Breakfast and lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n The program will culminate with an end-of-summer celebration.<\/p>\n The cost per week is $40 for members and $50 for non-members.<\/p>\n A mandatory C.I.T.
