{"id":281593,"date":"2026-05-23T01:21:24","date_gmt":"2026-05-23T01:21:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/281593\/"},"modified":"2026-05-23T01:21:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-23T01:21:24","slug":"teen-struck-by-vehicle-while-using-crosswalk-in-st-petersburg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/281593\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen Struck by Vehicle While Using Crosswalk in St. Petersburg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">A 15-year-old boy remains in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Friday morning while crossing a street in St. Petersburg.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">According to police, officers responded at approximately 9:49 a.m. to the intersection of 9th Avenue North and 25th Street North following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Advertisement &#8211;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators say a Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on 9th Avenue North in the median lane approaching 25th Street North when it struck the teen, who was crossing the roadway in a marked crosswalk.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">Police said the 15-year-old had activated the crosswalk lights and was proceeding across 9th Avenue North when the crash occurred.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">The teen was transported to Johns Hopkins All Children\u2019s Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">The intersection was temporarily closed during the investigation but has since reopened.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
