A Rockland man is facing charges in connection with a watercraft crash in Florida.<\/p>\n
Police say 48-year-old Daniel Patrick Grubert from Piermont was riding a rented Jet Ski in Madeira Beach, near St. Petersburg, on Sunday when he began racing someone on the water.<\/p>\n
He allegedly wasn’t looking ahead, turned around, and saw another watercraft in the way. The operator of that Jet Ski and two children were thrown into the water by the crash.<\/p>\n
One child suffered life-threatening injuries while the other was also hurt, but not severely.<\/p>\n
The operator was uninjured, and Grubert jumped off before the crash.<\/p>\n
