The latest Pinpoint Weather update shows that storm activity is set to increase through the afternoon and evening, especially after 2 p.m. with rain chances rising from 30% at 2 p.m., to 40% by 4 p.m., and up to 60% into the later afternoon hours.

Planner

No major weather systems are moving in from The Gulf, so most storms will be sea breeze-driven. The heaviest rain is expected west of the I4 corridor, with areas including Sumter, Marion, and Lake counties most at risk for downpours and isolated flooding. According to the excessive rainfall outlook, these areas sit under a marginal flood risk today, meaning some spots could see 2 to 4 inches of rain, with even higher amounts possible in localized areas. While widespread flooding isn’t forecast, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the weather and avoid areas with poor drainage during heavy downpours.

Rainfall outlook

Sunday is also bringing higher than normal heat. Daytime highs are expected to be in the lower 90s throughout the region.

Memorial Day outlook and the week ahead

If you’re making Memorial Day plans, there’s good news: Michelle Morgan forecasts a dry and mostly sunny start to Monday, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and lower 90s with lower rain chances.

Looking forward, the weather is expected to become more active after Tuesday, with higher rain chances—between 60% and 70%—and highs staying in the upper 80s and low 90s through the week. So, if you have outdoor activities planned, early in the week is your best bet for drier skies.

Caught dramatic storm photos or sunshine breaks?
