{"id":282794,"date":"2026-05-24T14:06:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-24T14:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/282794\/"},"modified":"2026-05-24T14:06:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-24T14:06:09","slug":"police-burglary-suspects-flee-from-miami-dade-to-broward-after-pursuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/282794\/","title":{"rendered":"Police: Burglary suspects flee from Miami-Dade to Broward after pursuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Published:\u00a0May 24, 2026 at 9:47 AM<\/p>\n<p>Police: Getaway driver of BMW crashes into Pinecrest police officer, 1 arrested after Hollywood crashlead-art-block.fullscreen-enterExpand<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1779631569_653_MEEH7TTRMTQAXPLCMDK63DMLLA.jpg\"  width=\"640\" height=\"360\"\/>WPLG <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"> PINECREST, Fla.  \u2014 Several burglary suspects got away after a police pursuit early Sunday morning in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, police said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">At 2 a.m., a police officer on patrol in Pinecrest reported there was a suspicious gray BMW parked on the wrong side of Southwest 66 Avenue, according to the Pinecrest Police Department. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The driver of the BMW crashed into the Pinecrest police officer\u2019s patrol car after several car burglary suspects wearing ski masks and dressed in black ran out of a house\u2019s yard, according to police. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The burglary suspects fled in the BMW, and a pursuit moved northbound on State Road 836 until the on-duty PPD supervisor decided to terminate it near Sunset Drive, according to police. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The driver of the BMW continued speeding northbound, crossed from Miami-Dade to Broward County, and crashed in Hollywood, according to police.
