Palm Beach schools were given just shy of $1 million dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2023, the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant Program \u2014 also known as\u00a0<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fldoe.org\/newsroom\/latest-news\/education-commissioner-anastasios-kamoutsas-awards-40-million-to-expand-workforce-education-programs-in-florida.stml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Workforce CAP<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 has invested $240 million to help develop and sharpen the skills of Florida\u2019s future workforce. The technology, medicine and mechanical industries are some of the program\u2019s targets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFlorida\u2019s workforce is stronger than ever because we are investing directly in students and the programs that prepare them for success,\u201d said Kamoutsas in a statement. \u201cThis $40 million investment expands opportunities across the state, giving students access to cutting-edge training and ensuring Florida remains the best place to build a career.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>READ MORE:\u00a0<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wlrn.org\/education\/2025-09-26\/latinos-in-action-broward-schools\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Trump administration threatens to cut millions of dollars from Broward schools over Latino program<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In Broward, a dozen programs will benefit from the Workforce CAP, including training for artificial intelligence foundations, nursing assistance, emergency medical responder and unmanned aircraft systems operations.<\/p>\n<p>These are the programs the department is awarding:<\/p>\n<p>Miami-Dade County<\/p>\n<p>Allied Health Assisting<br \/>\nApplied Engineering Technology<br \/>\nApplied Robotics<br \/>\nAviation Powerplant Mechanics<br \/>\nAviation Airframe Mechanics<br \/>\nAviation Maintenance General<br \/>\nBiomedical Sciences<br \/>\nElectronic Systems Technology<br \/>\nEmergency Medical Responder<br \/>\nEngineering Pathways and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Operations<\/p>\n<p>The total grant amount is $5,830,190.<\/p>\n<p>Broward County<\/p>\n<p>Allied Health Assisting<br \/>\nApplied Cybersecurity<br \/>\nApplied Information Technology<br \/>\nApplied Robotics<br \/>\nArtificial Intelligence (AI) Foundations<br \/>\nComputer Science Principles<br \/>\nElectrocardiograph Technician<br \/>\nHeating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning\/Refrigeration (HVAC\/R)<br \/>\nEmergency Medical Responder<br \/>\nEngineering Pathways<br \/>\nNursing Assistant (Acute and Long-Term Care)<br \/>\nUnmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Operations<\/p>\n<p>The total grant amount is $4,278,285.<\/p>\n<p>Palm Beach County<\/p>\n<p>Allied Health Assisting<br \/>\nApplied Cybersecurity<br \/>\nApplied Robotics<br \/>\nArtificial Intelligence (AI) Foundations<br \/>\nComputer Systems and Information Technology<br \/>\nDrafting<br \/>\nEngineering Pathways<br \/>\nNursing Assistant Web Application Development and Programming<\/p>\n<p>The total grant amount is $992,353<\/p>\n<p>Palm Beach State College is also receiving some support from CAP \u2014 about $575,000.
