The Sunshine State came in third in the country for road trip experiences among travelers heading into the unofficial beginning of Summer in a few days with Memorial Day Weekend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The condition of Florida\u2019s roadways contributed to the high ranking, according to the study.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe state maintains some of the highest quality infrastructure in the country, with 87% of Florida\u2019s roads rated in \u2018acceptable\u2019 condition,\u201d the law firm\u2019s study concluded.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The study\u2019s analysts compiled an overall road trip score based on several metrics, including road quality, the number of auto repair shops per every 1,000 kilometers, road fatalities per 100,000 vehicles, and other factors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.phrd.com\/people?location=tallahassee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-782209 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Seann-Frazier-Web-Ad-3-Florida-Politics-Updated.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Florida racked up a total score of 70.45. That\u2019s just behind Maryland, which scored 74.13 to finish second in the nation. New Jersey topped the list with a score of 83.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Florida was the highest-ranked Southern state, with Tennessee just behind at No. 4 and Virginia at No. 5.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Analysts found Florida roadways are hospitable and a playground for road travelers throughout the state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cFlorida offers significant support for motorists, boasting 79.91 auto repair shops and 42.68 gas stations per 1,000 kilometers, ensuring travelers are never far from essential services,\u201d the study found. \u201cThe state provides ample opportunity for outdoor recreation, featuring 1.37 National Park Service campgrounds for every 10,000 kilometers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sahlegal.com\/attorneys\/justin-hosman\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Justin Hosman<\/a>, a personal injury lawyer and partner at <a href=\"https:\/\/sahlegal.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Steele Adams Hosman<\/a>, said the findings are an important barometer as the busy Summer travel season begins.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alibabapowersbusinesses.com\/us-impact\/#FL\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-776743\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2025Alibaba-728x90-Florida-FP-FINAL.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSummer is the peak season for the American road trip, but increased congestion and long hours behind the wheel bring unique safety challenges,\u201d Hosman said. \u201cWith more families and travelers hitting the highways, it is critical for drivers to remain vigilant, perform vehicle safety checks, and stay focused on the road to ensure a smooth and safe summer journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The worst state for road travel in the country was New Mexico, which placed No. 50\u00a0with a road travel score of 17.02, according to the study.
