{"id":283862,"date":"2026-05-25T18:11:22","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T18:11:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/283862\/"},"modified":"2026-05-25T18:11:22","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T18:11:22","slug":"baseball-headed-to-tallahassee-regional","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/283862\/","title":{"rendered":"Baseball Headed To Tallahassee Regional"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CONWAY, S.C. \u2013 Coastal Carolina will make its 22nd NCAA Regional appearance after earning an at-large bid to the Tallahassee Regional, hosted by No. 10 national seed Florida State University, which will be played at Dick Howser Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>The Chanticleers (37-21), who finished second in the Sun Belt Conference, earned the No. 2 seed and will play No. 3 seed Northern Illinois (35-17) in the first round on Friday, May 29, at 8 p.m. No. 1 seed and host Florida State (38-17) will face No. 4 seed St. John&#8217;s (33-24) in the other opening-round game.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets will go on sale to the general public Monday, May 25, at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>All-session tickets are $60 for reserved seats and $45 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased online at <a href=\"https:\/\/seminoles.evenue.net\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Seminoles.com\/Tickets<\/a>. Phone orders can be placed beginning Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. by calling 1-888-378-6653.<\/p>\n<p>Individual game tickets will be available beginning Friday, May 29. Individual game tickets are $20 for reserved seats, if available, and $15 for adult general admission and $10 for youth general admission (ages 3-18). Children ages 2 and under are admitted free with a paying adult.<\/p>\n<p>Friday&#8217;s game will mark the Chanticleers&#8217; first-ever meeting with Northern Illinois, the champion of the Mid-American Conference. Coastal last played St. John&#8217;s in 2017, hosting the Red Storm as part of the season-opening Baseball at the Beach tournament. The Chants are 4-3 all-time against the BIG EAST champion.<\/p>\n<p>It has been 11 years since the Chanticleers last faced Florida State, which leads the all-time series 13-1. Coastal&#8217;s lone win in the series came in its most recent meeting with the Seminoles, a 4-2 victory on May 3, 2015, in Tallahassee.<\/p>\n<p>Coastal made its first NCAA appearance in 1991 in Tallahassee.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 64 teams selected for the NCAA Tournament, the Chanticleers own a 13-9 record in 2026 against 10 tournament qualifiers: East Carolina (2-1), Louisiana (1-4), North Carolina (1-0), NC State (0-1), Ole Miss (1-0), Texas (0-1), Texas State (2-1), The Citadel (2-0), VCU (2-0) and Wake Forest (2-1).<\/p>\n<p>Each of the 16 regionals features four teams competing in a double-elimination format. Regional play is scheduled for May 29-June 1, if necessary.
