A look at Friday around the Jaguars \u2013 with <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jaguars.com\/video\/k000474-liam-coen-travis-hunter-injury-stepping-up-press-conference\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Head Coach Liam<\/a> Coen speaking to the media for the final time before Sunday:<\/p>\n<p>Travis Hunter will be placed on injured reserve.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter, a wide receiver\/defensive back and the No. 2 overall selection in the <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jaguars.com\/draft\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">2025 NFL Draft<\/a>, sustained a knee injury in practice Thursday. Coen during his Friday morning media availability announced Hunter will be placed on injured reserve.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Obviously huge blow,&#8221; Coen called it.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter under NFL injured-reserve rules will miss at least four games.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re currently assessing the injury, just to determine the best course of action moving forward for Travis and for the team,&#8221; Coen said, adding that it was a &#8220;non-contact&#8221; injury. &#8220;We&#8217;re still waiting on further information to determine how long it could be.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jaguars.com\/team\/players-roster\/travis-hunter\/\" title=\"Travis Hunter\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Travis Hunter<\/a>, the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, has played extensively on offense and defense as a rookie \u2013 the first NFL player to do so in three decades. Hunter in the Jaguars&#8217; last game \u2013 a 35-7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams at Wembley Stadium in London before a Week 8 bye \u2013 caught a season-high eight passes for 101 yards and his first NFL touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You just feel bad for the guy, for the kid, for our team, for everything,&#8221; Coen said. &#8220;He&#8217;s in good spirits right now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Coen called the situation &#8220;a minor setback for a major comeback,&#8221; adding, &#8220;That&#8217;s just the way it has to be.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"JACKSONVILLE \u2013 The Jaguars on Friday practiced at the Miller Electric Center.
