Florida State’s 2027 recruiting class has been moving at a snail’s pace, as arch-rivals Miami and Florida have been dominating on the trail. As they always say, “Slow and steady wins the race”. The Seminoles are hoping that is the case here, as Florida State ranks as the 40th-best class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. <\/p>\n

The Seminoles only have seven commitments<\/a> and have gained three pledges since the calendar year started. Florida State’s coaching staff usually likes to get summer fireworks in July for its recruiting class, but the morale of the program is very low after the administration decided to retain Mike Norvell for the 2026 season. <\/p>\n

The talented prospects across the country want to see how the season plays out for Florida State<\/a> and if Mike Norvell will even be the coach for next season if they were to commit and potentially sign with the Seminoles, which is understandable. <\/p>\n

With that said, here are three recruits that Florida State football has to land in its 2027 recruiting class. <\/p>\n

Four-star OL DaJohn Yarborough<\/p>\n

Florida State has a tendency to rely on the transfer portal for offensive linemen. Assistant coach Herb Hand has been around the game of college football for years and has shown he can develop talent in Year 1 in Tallahassee. However, the offensive line needs to keep bringing in homegrown talent. Interior offensive lineman DeJohn Yarborough is someone they like, but they have schools involved, such as Mississippi State, California, and Washington. <\/p>\n

Three-star OL Shavezz Dixon<\/p>\n

Do you see a trend here? The Seminoles need quality offensive linemen in their foundation. Florida State is involved with three-star interior offensive lineman Shavezz Dixon from Leesburg, Georgia. He was once committed to Ole Miss, but backed off his pledge. He has visited the Seminoles twice this spring, and he will be announcing his commitment on June 5th (which is supposed to be the time that he is officially visiting Florida State). <\/p>\n

Four-star DL Sam LeJeune <\/p>\n

We already saw one talented prospect from Poplarville, Mississippi, trend towards Florida State and then committed elsewhere, with four-star running back Ty Keys to Miami. The Seminoles don’t need it to happen again. Four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune is someone that they have been involved with for a while, and he is a top-150 prospect that the Seminoles are competing for with the likes of LSU, Auburn, and California. The weekend of June 12th will be important for Florida State to secure him. <\/p>\n
