Days of rain are anticipated, with a Level 1 out 4 flash flood threat in place for parts of the state. However, updated tracking shows a surge of tropical moisture aimed over the region, bringing potential <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fxw_weather-news_article_main-content_article-body_2_5\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/drought\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">drought<\/a> relief by late week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Florida Tropical Overview.png\"\/>Tropical downpours overview.<br \/>(FOX Weather)<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Florida is possibly looking at a long-duration heavy rain event and, combined with heavy <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fxw_weather-news_article_main-content_article-body_2_6\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/precipitation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">rainfall<\/a> rates, portions of the state are under a Level 1 out of 4 flash flood threat beginning Thursday and lasting through Saturday.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fxw_weather-news_article_main-content_article-body_2_7\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/watch-winds-bounce-house-tumbling-yard-florida\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">LOOK OUT: POWERFUL WINDS SEND BOUNCE HOUSE TUMBLING THROUGH YARD AND INTO SUV IN FLORIDA<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">That said, Florida is currently enduring its most widespread and severe drought since 2012, with rainfall deficits running an astonishing 20 to 30 inches below normal along the Interstate 10 corridor.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/FL Drought Monitor Map Only.png\"\/>Florida drought monitor.<br \/>(FOX Weather)<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Starting Thursday and lasting into the weekend, a surge of tropical moisture from the Gulf and <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fxw_weather-news_article_main-content_article-body_2_8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/ocean\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Atlantic<\/a> will move back into the region as a stationary front slowly sags southward across portions of the <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fxw_weather-news_article_main-content_article-body_2_9\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/southeast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Southeast<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Into the weekend, a firehose of Caribbean moisture will be pulled northward directly over the state, unleashing rain at potentially high rates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">This has prompted a Level 1 <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fxw_weather-news_article_main-content_article-body_2_10\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/flood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">flash flood<\/a> risk in place across parts of southeast Florida, including <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fxw_weather-news_article_main-content_article-body_2_11\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/florida\/miami\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Miami<\/a> and <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fxw_weather-news_article_main-content_article-body_2_12\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/florida\/west-palm-beach\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">West Palm Beach<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Florida Multiday Flash Flood Outlook.png\"\/>Multi-day flash flood outlook.<br \/>(FOX Weather)<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Now looking longer term into early June, this front is forecast to slowly shift as high pressure builds in from the north.
