Bestselling investigative author throws support behind conservative challenger<\/p>\n
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. \u2014 Peter Schweizer, the bestselling author and government accountability watchdog known for his hard-hitting investigations into political corruption, has officially endorsed Tallahassee resident and Iraq war veteran Luke Murphy in the Republican primary race for Florida\u2019s 2nd Congressional District.<\/p>\n
Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute and author of New York Times bestselling books including\u00a0The Invisible Coup, Blood Money\u00a0and\u00a0Clinton Cash,\u00a0announced his support for Murphy on social media the Tuesday after Memorial Day.<\/p>\n

Murphy, who faces a crowded\u00a0primary field including\u00a0Florida GOP chairman Evan Power, Nick Lewis, Keith Gross, Austin Rogers, Audie Rowell and Jim Norton\u00a0, welcomed the endorsement as a significant boost to his campaign\u2019s credibility on government accountability issues.<\/p>\n

Florida\u2019s 2nd Congressional District, which covers the Panhandle and Big Bend region including Tallahassee, is considered a safe seat for Republicans,\u00a0and has been held by Neal Dunn since 2017. Murphy\u2019s campaign has centered on\u00a0defending the constitutional rights of all Americans, supporting term limits to bring accountability back to Washington, and standing up for the veterans who sacrificed to protect our nation.
