FORT PIERCE \u2013 St. Lucie County Sheriff\u2019s Office road patrol deputies responded to 2600 block of Rolyat Street, Fort Pierce in reference to a deceased individual inside a tent encampment on May 25 at 10:20 a.m., according to the Sheriff\u2019s Office Facebook page.<\/p>\n

On May 26, pending findings by the Medical Examiner\u2019s Office autopsy, the death was ruled a homicide.<\/p>\n

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, according to the Facebook posting.<\/p>\n

The investigation covers an area around Okeechobee Road and Rolyat Street as detectives and crime scene investigators continue to process evidence and conduct investigative activities.<\/p>\n

Detectives are currently attempting to locate Zachary Ryan Edwards, 30, who is homeless. Edwards was last seen about a week ago around the area of Okeechobee Road and Rolyat Street.<\/p>\n
