(WCJB) &#8211; After gaveling in for a special session earlier this month to hash out differences in the state budget, lawmakers reached a deal Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Senate\u2019s initial proposal comes in $1.4 billion above the House plan. Because of that, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcjb.com\/2026\/05\/12\/florida-lawmakers-begin-special-session-pass-state-budget\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wcjb.com\/2026\/05\/12\/florida-lawmakers-begin-special-session-pass-state-budget\/\">special session <\/a>was called after lawmakers couldn\u2019t reach a deal after their 60 regular session.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The budget is about $115 billion, about $2 billion less than what Gov.
