MIAMI \u2014 For the first time in his illustrious hip-hop career, Rick Ross is hitting the road with a full orchestra and a celebration of the album that changed everything: \u201cPort of Miami.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s going to be an extravagant moment, so come with your A-game,\u201d Ross said in an interview with Local 10\u2019s Alexis Frazier.<\/p>\n
Ross says this tour is about celebrating how far the culture \u2014 and the city of Miami \u2014 have come. <\/p>\n
If you\u2019re going, don\u2019t just show up. Come dressed to impress and ready to show out.<\/p>\n
Hip-hop artists have performed with live instruments before, but Ross says this experience takes things to another level.<\/p>\n
\u201cShout out to all the other artists who\u2019ve done their thing. When I first saw Jay-Z do it \u2014 Jeezy has done it too \u2014 but I haven\u2019t seen it like this, with a full orchestra and full choir,” he said.<\/p>\n
And there\u2019s something poetic about the fact that it all starts in Miami \u2014 the city that helped build the boss.<\/p>\n
Twenty years later, \u201cHustlin\u2019\u201d is still one of his most streamed songs.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I recorded \u2018Everyday I\u2019m Hustlin\u2019,\u2019 there was no way I could imagine 20 summers later, people still playing it,\u201d Ross said.<\/p>\n
And after two decades in the game, the Boss says he\u2019s still hungry.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe legacy ain\u2019t going nowhere,\u201d a humbled Ross said.<\/p>\n
In addition to touring, Ross just released a new book.<\/p>\n
The \u201cPort of Miami 20\u201d tour kicks off Friday at the James L. Knight Center.<\/p>\n
