Hollywood Republican Bryan Leib two years ago gathered surprising interest in a run for Florida\u2019s 25th Congressional District. The lines have now changed<\/a>, but Leib said he may be ready to run in the district\u2019s new configuration.<\/p>\n

The Henry Public Relations co-founder told Florida Politics he is exploring filing in a coastal district that now spans from Boca Raton south to Miami Beach.<\/p>\n

\u201c(CD) 25 from two years ago was only Broward county. The new 25 is mostly Miami Dade and I have a lot of support in Hollywood, Hallandale, Aventura, Miami Beach, Bal Harbor, Sunny Isles, etc.\u201d he said. \u201cI think I have the votes to win in a crowded primary. \u201c<\/p>\n

Leib in 2024 ran in a district represented by U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Weston Democrat. But she is now running in Florida\u2019s 20th Congressional District<\/a>. Leib never got his shot against the longtime incumbent, losing a GOP Primary to Chris Eddy, who went on to lose to Wasserman Schultz by 10 percentage points.<\/p>\n

But during the fight, Leib picked up the endorsements of several Republican members of Florida\u2019s congressional delegation, including U.S. Reps. Byron Donalds, Anna Paulina Luna and Brian Mast, as well as now-U.S. Rep. Randy Fine, then a state Senator.<\/p>\n

U.S. Rep. Abe Hamadeh, an Arizona Republican, also endorsed Leib\u2019s campaign. Other backers included Ric Grenell, a former Director of National Intelligence for President Donald Trump; Tom Homan, now Trump\u2019s border Czar; and state Sen. Joe Gruters, now Chair of the Republican National Committee.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the 2024 Republican primary for Florida\u2019s 25th Congressional District, despite having limited visibility and name recognition in that Broward County-based district and only three months to campaign, we built something rather special,\u201d Leib said in a post on X.<\/p>\n

The new congressional map, which a Leon Circuit Judge this week said could stand<\/a> for the 2026 election during an ongoing legal challenge, Leib will face a different scenario than his last run for office.<\/p>\n

Most likely, U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz, a Parkland Democrat, will end up running in that district under a new map. But there\u2019s already a crowded field of Republicans in the race, many of whom were challenging Moskowitz in his old Broward County district.<\/p>\n

Daniel Franzese, Raven Harrison, George Moraitis, Scott Singer\u00a0and Claudia Villatoro\u00a0have all filed in CD 25, and all have reported more than $400,000 in total fundraising. Leib over the course of this 2024 campaign reported just over $75,000 raised, including $12,200 out of pocket.<\/p>\n

But he notes that he already has a history running in many areas where other candidates, including Moskowitz, have never campaigned.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn communities like Hollywood and Hallandale Beach that are part of the newly drawn CD25, we received more than 60% of the primary vote while receiving almost 40% throughout the entire district because Florida Republicans responded to my message rooted in freedom, love of country, and putting America and Florida First while standing with President Trump,\u201d he posted.<\/p>\n

\u201cEver since the congressional maps were redrawn, I\u2019ve received phone calls from community leaders, grassroots activists, and Republican donors encouraging me to \u2018jump in.\u2019 Friends from Aventura, Miami Beach, Hollywood, Hallandale, Boca Raton, etc. \u2014 have all encouraged me to run in this upcoming Primary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Henry PR, a conservative marketing firm working with radio hosts, podcasters and columnists, gives him connections to a national network of potential supporters. He was a \u201cDay One\u201d supporter of Trump, he said, and feels momentum for that America First loyalty will rally many to his message.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy grandparents taught me from a young age that service to our country is paramount. That\u2019s why I made history when I was 22 years old serving on the local United Way board in Philadelphia and it\u2019s why I\u2019ve run for Congress twice now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cService to our country and communities comes in a lot of different vehicles: running for office, serving on non-profit boards, being a good neighbor, etc.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said he has yet to make a decision. He did tell Florida Politics that CD 25 is the only district he\u2019s looking at right now.
