Miami, FL – Several terminals at Miami International Airport were temporarily evacuated Monday after authorities investigated an unattended bag that prompted a large emergency response during the busy Memorial Day travel period.<\/p>\n
According to the Miami Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office, deputies responded after airport personnel reported unattended luggage inside one of the terminal areas. <\/p>\n
As a precaution, officials evacuated portions of the airport connected to gates 11 through 19 while bomb squad teams and K 9 units investigated the item.<\/p>\n
Video from the airport showed travelers being escorted out of terminal areas as law enforcement officers blocked access points and secured sections of the facility. <\/p>\n
Large crowds gathered outside while authorities worked to determine whether the bag posed a potential threat.<\/p>\n
Airport officials said bomb squad personnel examined the item before investigators later confirmed there was no danger to the public. <\/p>\n
