Image by Hannah Lau Gleciano for WMNF News.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Listen:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indian Rocks Beach is now requiring beachgoers to pay for parking at public beach entryways.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This initiative is part of a six month pilot program the City Commission approved back in February, but was put in place May 18th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visitors will have to pay $4.50 through the ParkMobile app or website. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visitors have to pay from 8 AM to 10 PM all seven days of the week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents of Indian Rocks Beach can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indian-rocks-beach.com\/residential-information\/parking-information\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.indian-rocks-beach.com\/residential-information\/parking-information\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">apply<\/a> for a decal that allows them to park in designated spots and avoid the fees. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Robin Gomez is the Administrative Director of Indian Rocks Beach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ll let the public know we\u2019re going to put the information also on our website so that the public can see what\u2019s happening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moving forward with next year\u2019s budget, the city will create a parking fund for maintenance and future projects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indian Rocks Beach was one of the last in Pinellas County to offer free public beach parking. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Starting May 18th, visitors of Indian Rocks Beach are required to pay for parking.
