(WCTV) &#8211; A first-grade teacher at Conley Elementary School received a surprise recognition as May\u2019s Teacher of the Month, an honor presented by WCTV and Addition Financial. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Sarah Boland teaches all subjects in first grade.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Her nominator praised her patience, dedication and willingness to support students, saying Boland often spends her own money to make sure students have what they need.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Boland said her students are the reason she continues teaching despite the challenges of the job.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThey are really amusing and sweet and make me feel special,\u201d Boland said. \u201cIt\u2019s really hard; it\u2019s a tough job, but they definitely are the driving factor.
