{"id":289345,"date":"2026-05-29T20:48:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T20:48:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/289345\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T20:48:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T20:48:09","slug":"jacksonville-resident-faces-jail-time-for-abuse-videos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/289345\/","title":{"rendered":"Jacksonville resident faces jail time for abuse videos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 35-year-old Andy Robert Ardelean, out of Jacksonville, faces federal charges for downloading and receiving videos containing child sex abuse material. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Detectives from the St. Johns County Sheriff\u2019s Office conducted an online investigation between Dec. 2025 and March 2026, with their targets being individuals using the internet to receive and share child sex abuse material.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The investigation revealed that a computer using an internet protocol address in Jacksonville was hosting child sexual abuse videos available for sharing online. Upon further investigation, the activity was traced to a residence where Ardelean lived.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">On May 19, 2026, FBI agents executed a federal search warrant at Ardelean\u2019s residence. Agents seized a laptop computer from his bedroom.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">A forensic review of the laptop showed the computer was used on April 23, 2026, to download and receive at least one video depicting a young child being sexually abused.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Ardelean was arrested and could face a minimum of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wftv.com\/mobile-apps\">Click here<\/a> to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
