The \u201880s and \u201890s throwback GenX Tavern<\/a>, 103 E. Jackson Street, will be closing this summer to make way for a new concept. <\/p>\n The last day of service is July 4. <\/p>\n \u201cSo before we say \u2018bye, bye, bye,\u2019 come kick it with us one more time \u2026 Let\u2019s make these final weeks epic,\u201d the owners wrote in their post. <\/p>\n GenX Tavern<\/a> has had a successful run since opening in 2019, the owners added. <\/p>\n \u201cAfter [seven] totally rad, all-that-and-a-bag-of-chips years, it\u2019s time for us to say peace out to our 80s [and] 90s era. What a run. From neon nights and throwback jams to packed weekends that felt straight out of MTV, you showed up and showed out every single time,\u201d they wrote. \u201cThis place wasn\u2019t just a restaurant \u2014 it was a time machine. A \u2018meet me there at 8\u2019 spot. We celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, and plenty of \u2018no special occasion, just good times\u2019 nights together. And honestly? It\u2019s been da bomb.
