{"id":289528,"date":"2026-05-29T23:39:07","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T23:39:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/289528\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T23:39:07","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T23:39:07","slug":"downtown-miami-stabbing-victim-says-she-was-prepared-to-die-nbc-6-south-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/289528\/","title":{"rendered":"Downtown Miami stabbing victim says she was prepared to die \u2013 NBC 6 South Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A woman is opening up after she was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/news\/local\/woman-stabbed-in-the-face-in-downtown-miami-fire-rescue-officials-say\/3810850\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">brutally attacked and stabbed<\/a> just outside her home in downtown Miami last week, leaving her partially blind.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing has been the same for Caitlin Dydzuhn since the morning she walked out of her Marina Blue home along Northeast 8th Street and Biscayne on Tuesday, May 19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe attacked me from behind. I had no idea it was going to happen,&#8221; Dydzuhn said. &#8220;There was no way to defend myself from that; he just flattened me. He pinned me down and started punching me and stabbing me, and hitting my head into the pavement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dydzuhn screamed for help over and over, worried she wouldn\u2019t survive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was prepared to die in that moment,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I was calculating how many more punches can I take?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then, a good Samaritan fought off the attacker and brought her to safety.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of a sudden, I was covered in my own blood and running for my life,&#8221; Dydzuhn said.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA woman was rushed to the hospital after she was stabbed in the face with a pen during an apparent random attack in downtown Miami. NBC6&#8217;s Ari Odzer reports\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Miami Police arrested 49-year-old Raydean Johnson after a three-hour standoff with officers, who had to use a taser to take him into custody.<\/p>\n<p>Now Dydzuhn is looking to file a negligent security lawsuit against Marina Blue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe building has a security responsibility to protect their residents,&#8221; attorney Judd Rosen said. \u201cThere\u2019s no security at all on the perimeter; there\u2019s no one paying attention. Where were they?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dydzuhn suffered cuts to her face.
