ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. \u2014 A garbage truck driver for the city of St. Petersburg could face jail time after fatally striking a pedestrian and leaving the scene.<\/p>\n
It happened near 17 3rd Street North at 6:30 a.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n
St. Petersburg Police officers say the driver, 51-year-old Nathan Brown, was driving down an alley in the area when he struck a woman who was lying down in the alley. Brown did not stop after the crash.<\/p>\n
Officers were called to the scene where they found the victim, a 49-year-old woman, deceased.<\/p>\n
The victim’s identity will be released pending next of kin notification.<\/p>\n
