{"id":290481,"date":"2026-05-30T23:04:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-30T23:04:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/290481\/"},"modified":"2026-05-30T23:04:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-30T23:04:12","slug":"15-year-old-arrested-in-connection-to-2025-kidnapping-sexual-battery-of-girl-in-overtown-wsvn-7news-miami-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/290481\/","title":{"rendered":"15-year-old arrested in connection to 2025 kidnapping, sexual battery of girl in Overtown &#8211; WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MIAMI (WSVN) &#8211; A teen has been arrested and charged in connection to a child gang rape case in Miami\u2019s Overtown neighborhood. <\/p>\n<p>Xavier Tyson, 15, was booked into jail on Friday afternoon. <\/p>\n<p>As of Saturday afternoon, he\u2019s being held without bond and faces three felony charges, including sexual battery and false imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>He will likely be tried as an adult <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/12-year-old-charged-as-adult-in-overtown-girls-rape-released-ahead-of-trial-13-year-old-suspect-to-remain-behind-bars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">as will two other boys<\/a> who are facing the same charges.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives said a <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/2-juveniles-charged-as-adults-in-2025-kidnapping-sexual-battery-of-12-year-old-girl-in-miami-victims-mother-speaks-out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">group of boys<\/a> approached the victim as she was walking home on Northwest 11th Terrace in June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Miami Police said two of the boys dragged her to a garden, pinned her down, filled her mouth with rocks and sexually assaulted her. <\/p>\n<p>According to the arrest report, Tyson allegedly restrained the girl and pulled down her shirt.<\/p>\n<p>Tyson\u2019s arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
