HOWEVER, WHEN CONSTRUCTION BEGINS MONDAY, YOU&#8217;RE GOING TO WANT TO BE PREPARED FOR SOME DELAYS. CONSTRUCTION WILL BE HERE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF BERNICE BRADEN PARK RIGHT OFF THE CAPE CORAL BRIDGE. AS SOON AS YOU COME INTO CAPE CORAL, DRIVING OVER THE CAPE CORAL BRIDGE. CONSTRUCTION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN MONDAY AND YOU&#8217;LL WANT TO PREPARE YOURSELVES AHEAD OF TRAFFIC DELAYS. &gt;&gt; OUR COMMUNITY IS ALREADY, I BELIEVE A VERY PATRIOTIC COMMUNITY. AND I YOU KNOW, I JUST THINK WITH THAT YEARS GOING MORE IS A GOD BLESS AMERICA. LEAGUE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ANNOUNCED CONSTRUCTION STARTS MONDAY FOR THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED 250 FOOT FREESTANDING FLAG POLE ALONG WITH ITS FOUNDATION AND ELECTRICAL WORK. CONSTRUCTION WILL BE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF BERNICE BRADEN PARK. DRIVERS CAN EXPECT HEAVY TRUCK TRAFFIC BETWEEN THE WELCOME CENTER AND THE BASE OF THE CAPE CORAL BRIDGE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF CAPE CORAL PARKWAY. THIS IS ONLY A FEW FEET FROM THE SLIP AWAY. FOOD TRUCK, PARK AND MARINA. IT&#8217;S GOING TO BE AN INCREDIBLE BACKDROP FOR THE RED, WHITE AND BOOM. THE CITY PUTS ON A GREAT PROGRAM ALREADY FOR 4TH OF JULY. &gt;&gt; AND HAVE THAT FLAG AS THE BACKDROP TO THOSE FIREWORKS IS GOING TO BE INCREDIBLE. The Lee County Department of Transportation announced the project will include the 250-foot free-standing flagpole, its foundation, and electrical work. Drivers can expect heavy truck traffic between the Welcome Center and the base of the Cape Coral Bridge on the north side of Cape Coral Parkway. The construction site is located just a few feet from the Slipaway Food Truck Park and Marina.  \u201cOur community is already, I believe, a very patriotic community. And, you know, I just think with that flagpole here, it&#8217;s going to be more reason to say, &#8216;God bless America&#8217; forever,\u201d said Bob Mulroy of Slipaway Food Truck Park and Marina.  Mulroy also highlighted the flagpole\u2019s potential as a backdrop for the city\u2019s Fourth of July celebration. \u201cIt&#8217;s going to be an incredible backdrop for the Red, White and Boom. The city puts on a great program already for 4th of July, and to have that flag as the backdrop to those fireworks is going to be incredible,\u201d he said.  Cape Coral residents, who have spent months fundraising for the project, are excited to see it come to fruition.  \u201cVery proud to have an American flag flying, and it means a lot. And we all love our country. And why not have a beautiful flagpole at a great park, too?\u201d said Fran Cintorino, a Cape Coral resident.  Maria Morris, another Cape Coral resident, emphasized the importance of honoring military families through the project. \u201cIt honors the veterans and the people serving here, and I think that we can&#8217;t forget that;  a lot of growth here, a lot of new people here. But we have a lot of veterans here that served. And I think it&#8217;s a nice reminder for that, for the people of Cape Coral, people coming in and the people that live here already,\u201d she said.
