TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) \u2014 The Florida Highway Patrol said a wrong-way driver was the cause of a fatal, fiery crash on northbound I-275 in Tampa Friday night. <\/p>\n

A 21-year-old Tampa man was driving a Chevy Silverado, traveling the wrong way on north I-275 just past Busch Boulevard at around 9:15 p.m, authorities said. <\/p>\n

He collided nearly head-on with a Toyota Corolla driven by a 24-year-old Tampa man, who suffered fatal injuries at the scene. <\/p>\n

The Chevy then overturned multiple times before catching fire. <\/p>\n

The Corolla also overturned, and the force of the collision sent it barreling into a third vehicle, a Toyota Camry driven by a 26-year-old Wesley Chapel man. That vehicle collided with a fourth vehicle, another Toyota Camry, driven by a 38-year-old Tampa man. <\/p>\n

The drivers of the third and fourth vehicles were not injured in the crash, FHP said. <\/p>\n

The wrong-way driver, who has not been publicly identified, was hospitalized with serious injuries. <\/p>\n

FHP also said that, before the 9:15 p.m. crash on I-275, the Chevy driver was involved in two separate hit-and-runs, one that occurred along Fowler Avenue and one that occurred south of Fowler. <\/p>\n

No information was released about the details of those two crashes or if anyone was injured. <\/p>\n
