CARY, N.C. \u2013 Brendan Sencaj<\/a> went yard during Bentley’s first ever NCAA DII World Series game, but the #7 seeded Falcons lost to #2 Tampa, 13-2, Saturday night at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. Bentley faces elimination when it next takes on #3 Catawba Monday, June 1, at 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n Sencaj’s solo blast led off the top of the ninth inning when he launched an 0-1 pitch over the left-field fence.<\/p>\n Jake Maydak<\/a> supplied the first DII World Series hit in Bentley history by ripping a single to left field to lead off the top of the third inning.<\/p>\n Bentley scored its first run of the game in the eighth inning. Tommy Goonan<\/a> and Jimmy Mitchell<\/a> drew consecutive one-out walks, and Goonan came in to score on Jared Berardino’s<\/a> base hit. Nick Pappas<\/a> followed by drawing a walk to load the bases, but Bentley couldn’t deliver that clutch two-out hit.<\/p>\n
