A man plans and pays for a Florida vacation with his partner. When she realizes they\u2019re staying 45-minutes from Miami in Ft. Lauderdale, she feels as though he tricked her.<\/p>\n
In a video with over 1.2 million views, TikToker Wunderr (@wunderr_<\/a>) stands outside of his Ft. Lauderdale Airbnb, holding a digital camera.<\/p>\n His partner complains that they\u2019re not actually in Miami<\/a>, despite the TikToker telling her that was their destination.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a 45 minute drive. That\u2019s not bad!\u201d he exclaims. \u201cIt\u2019s better pricing out here.\u201d<\/p>\n Their Florida baecation quickly turns sour <\/p>\n The woman insists that she doesn\u2019t \u201ccare about the pricing,\u201d questioning his financial situation. He replies that he wanted to budget smartly for the trip.<\/p>\n On-screen text reads, \u201cI booked shawty a surprise trip to Miami and she mad our bnb in Ft. Lauderdale.\u201d<\/p>\n The couple continues to argue on their Florida trip. In a follow-up video<\/a>, the TikToker films them arguing about whether he should compensate her for the days she took off work. He points out that he paid for the entire trip, so he shouldn\u2019t be responsible for her lost wages.<\/p>\n \u201cShe wants me to pay her whole paycheck because I asked her to come on vacation to me,\u201d he says. She replies, \u201cYes, that makes the most sense\u2026I still got bills to pay.\u201d<\/p>\n In the comments of the viral video, viewers question the woman\u2019s ungrateful attitude after the TikToker paid for all of her vacation expenses.<\/p>\n \u201cI would\u2019ve been just as grateful,\u201d one writes.<\/p>\n Another says, \u201cSee I\u2019m not seeing the problem\u2026 45 minutes really isn\u2019t that bad when prices are ASTRONOMICAL for vacations.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI would of been hype that he booked a surprise trip,\u201d a third comments.<\/p>\n Is Ft. Lauderdale just as nice as Miami? <\/p>\n Others suggest that Ft. Lauderdale isn\u2019t a downgrade from Miami.<\/p>\n A commenter suggests, \u201cGurl as someone who lived in Miami Fort Lauderdale more of a vibe anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n A second says, \u201cFort Lauderdale is so much nicer than Miami\u2026 coming from someone who was born and raised in Miami.\u201d<\/p>\n Locals in the r\/Miami subreddit<\/a> compare the two cities, agreeing that Ft. Lauderdale is a great vacation spot.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s like Miami Lite, everything is slightly less in FTL, but less can mean better for many people, because it\u2019s also less chaotic. I like it there. Overall though you will absolutely feel like you\u2019re in the same metro area,\u201d one writes.<\/p>\n \u201cWay less people, way less construction. The beaches are the same,\u201d another says.<\/p>\n However, others say they prefer Miami.<\/p>\n \u201cFort Lauderdale is a lot of fun but doesn\u2019t hold a candle to Miami imo.
