TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Valwood baseball team is going to have to wait until Saturday to see if they can win their first ever state championship. After winning game one on Thursday, game two\u2019s finish is postponed until Saturday morning thanks to weather.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s already been a historic season for the Valiants, as the program reached 20-plus wins for the first time ever this year, and won their first outright region title in over two decades\u2026<\/p>\n
Valwood would jump on top early, scoring three runs in the top of the first. They\u2019d add another on a Dywan Powell single in the top of the second to take the 4-0 lead.<\/p>\n
Valwood led 7-2 until the bottom of the sixth inning, when the Knights rallied, scoring four runs to trail 7-6. That\u2019s when the game was delayed due to lightning, and later postponed until Saturday morning.<\/p>\n
The final 1.1 innings will be resumed Saturday morning at 10 a-, if Deerfield wins, the if necessary game will be played immediately after. If Valwood can hold the Knights off, they\u2019ll capture their very first state championship.<\/p>\n
