{"id":291107,"date":"2026-05-31T20:20:17","date_gmt":"2026-05-31T20:20:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/291107\/"},"modified":"2026-05-31T20:20:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-31T20:20:17","slug":"hillsborough-county-deputy-arrested-for-dui-in-citrus-park-hcso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/291107\/","title":{"rendered":"Hillsborough County deputy arrested for DUI in Citrus Park: HCSO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. \u2014 A Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s deputy is on administrative leave without pay after being arrested Saturday night on a DUI charge, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff&#8217;s Office (HCSO).<\/p>\n<p>Deputies said the traffic stop happened around 11:34 p.m. near Gunn Highway and Normandie Road in Citrus Park. The driver, 32-year-old Richard Michael Garcia, showed signs of impairment and refused to participate in standardized field sobriety exercises or provide a breath sample, according to a news release.<\/p>\n<p>Garcia was charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to testing.<\/p>\n<p>HCSO said Garcia has been with the agency since November 2020 and is assigned to the District I Street Crimes Unit.<\/p>\n<p>An internal affairs investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/JULIE.SALOMONE.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Cyclist struck and killed by car after surviving cardiac arrest months earlier<\/p>\n<p>Craig Prather survived a cardiac arrest in December.
