I\u2019ve got to deal with the budget, and I\u2019ve always told people, you know, I typically don\u2019t do the political stuff prior to me getting all the ducks in a row that I need to make sure that the state is going well. So we\u2019ll see how that all shakes out over the next couple weeks,\u201d he said on <a href=\"http:\/\/foxnews.com\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Fox News<\/a>\u2018 \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/shows\/sunday-morning-futures\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Sunday Morning Futures<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Special Session that could allow voters to decide whether they want property tax relief for homesteaders starts Monday, meaning one obstacle will be removed shortly. But DeSantis has until the end of June to sign a budget, suggesting that for candidates like former House Speaker\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/archives\/796876-down-in-polls-paul-renner-says-grassroots-will-come-through-for-him-in-gubernatorial-race\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Paul Renner<\/a> or Lt. Gov.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/archives\/798446-jay-collins-on-ron-desantis-im-grateful-for-his-support\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Jay Collins<\/a>, who covet that endorsement against front-runner\u00a0Byron Donalds, time is running short.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/floridapolitics.com\/archives\/783199-desantis-more-popular-trump-poll\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Polls show<\/a> his endorsement could be more meaningful than that of the President, as DeSantis is more popular in recent surveys.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">DeSantis was also asked about a potential role in the\u00a0Donald Trump administration and he demurred in saying he wanted anything, citing \u201cunfinished business\u201d in Tallahassee.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-709850 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Florida-Politics_728x100-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI\u2019ve gotta do my job here.
