CARLSBAD, Calif. –\u00a0 Florida State junior Jack Whaley<\/a> continues to lead the 23rd-ranked Seminoles at the 2026 Men’s Golf Championship, which is being held at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa.
\n\u00a0
\nIn the second round, Whaley carded a round of 4-under, 68, which was the third-lowest round in the field on Saturday.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nStarting on the 10th hole in the afternoon wave, Whaley made birdie to open the round. After giving it back on the 12th hole, Whaley found momentum on the 15th, carding three birdies in-a-row to move to 3-under.
\n\u00a0
\nWhaley shot nine consecutive pars before closing the round with a birdie on the ninth, moving up 22 spots on the leaderboard. He enters the final round tied for 13th place at 4-under, 140.
\n\u00a0
\nJack Bigham<\/a> finished the round even, 72, carding four birdies, while Carson Brewer<\/a> finished the day three-over, 75.
\n\u00a0
\nAfter a tough start on the front nine, Patrick McCann<\/a> bounced back and finished the back nine 1-under. McCann made a birdie on the sixth, and finished with another on the ninth.
\n\u00a0
\nThe Seminoles will play in the third round on Sunday at 4:40 p.m. ET from the first hole. FSU shot 4-over, 292 on Saturday and is 23-over, 599 for the tournament.\u00a0

\nThe top 15 teams after the third round will advance to the final round of stroke play on Monday. The top eight teams will advance to match play, beginning June 2.
\n\u00a0
\nThe first three rounds of stroke play will be streamed through Babygrande<\/a> and live scoring will be available on Scoreboard.<\/a> \u00a0Stroke play on Monday will air on the Golf Channel.<\/p>\n
