{"id":291688,"date":"2026-06-01T12:47:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T12:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/291688\/"},"modified":"2026-06-01T12:47:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T12:47:08","slug":"high-temperatures-and-lightning-storms-expected-to-hit-central-florida-orlando-sentinel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/291688\/","title":{"rendered":"High temperatures and lightning storms expected to hit Central Florida \u2013 Orlando Sentinel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lightning storms and scattered showers are forecast for Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Those storms and showers are expected to hit from Daytona Beach down to the Orlando metro and southward along the immediate coast, according to NWS Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>Frequent lightning, gusty winds and locally heavy rains are possible.<\/p>\n<p>Skies will be partly sunny and temperature highs will be around 90 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>Winds are blowing west to northwest at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.<\/p>\n<p>There is a moderate risk of rip currents at all Central Florida beaches.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, there is a marginal risk for severe storms on Tuesday, according to NWS Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>The main hazard of concern is damaging wind gusts of 60+ mph.<\/p>\n<p>Frequent lightning, heavy rain and a brief funnel cloud or tornado is also possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Lightning storms and scattered showers are forecast for Monday.
