ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) \u2014 One person was killed, and two others were critically injured after a three-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, a Mercedes sedan\u00a0was traveling westbound on 18th Avenue South at 1:15 a.m.<\/p>\n
The vehicle was approaching 29th St. S. when, for an unknown reason, the driver suddenly
crossed the median and hit an eastbound black Nissan sedan head-on.<\/p>\n
After the collision, police said an Oldsmobile was traveling westbound on 18th Avenue South
and failed to stop, colliding with the Nissan\u2019s front end.<\/p>\n
The passenger in the Nissan was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. <\/p>\n
The drivers of the Mercedes and Nissan were taken to the hospital with critical injuries and subsequently airlifted to Tampa General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. <\/p>\n
The driver of the Oldsmobile was assessed on the scene and released.<\/p>\n
