JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A middle school security guard on Jacksonville’s Southside is being charged after allegedly engaging in inappropriate conduct with a student.<\/p>\n
A Duval County Public Schools spokesperson announced Monday that Jon Kee, a security guard at Twin Lakes Academy Middle School, was arrested on May 29.<\/p>\n
He is charged with either soliciting or engaging in lewd conduct with a student as an authority figure \u2014 a second-degree felony \u2014 and remained in jail with a 500,000 bond Monday.<\/p>\n
“Upon receiving notification of the arrest, the individual was immediately reassigned to duties away from our campus and without student contact, pending the outcome of the criminal investigation and the district\u2019s professional standards review,” a DCPS spokesperson said. “The safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority.”<\/p>\n

According to the school district, Kee began working with the district as an office assistant at the school in February 2022 before transitioning to his role as a security guard in July 2024.<\/p>\n
