Central Florida Zoo & Biological Gardens<\/a> is looking for some boogie fever to hit Sanford. The attraction will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a throwback event on June 13. It\u2019s dubbed Zoodio 50 Disco Party<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The adults-only fundraiser will feature dinner and a dance floor that harkens back to the \u201970s.\u00a0 Disco-inspired clothing is encouraged for the event.<\/p>\n

Tickets include the meal, two drink tickets, a live DJ and \u201cafter-hours zoo experiences.\u201d Admission is $100 per person or $150 per couple. There is a capacity of 200 participants. Event hours are 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The tickets help support animal care, wildlife conservation and education programs. The zoo recently made headlines for taking in sloths from a planned (but now abandoned) International Drive attraction<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The zoo is a not-for-profit organization and is\u00a0home to more than 350 animals<\/a>, including birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals such as monkeys, lemurs, goats, cheetahs, giraffe, a greater one-horned rhinoceros, and more. It is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The attraction has shifted to its summer operating hours, designed for cooler morning visits. The zoo will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. That\u2019s a shift of one hour earlier at each end of the day.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Fathers and grandfathers will receive free entry with the purchase of a general admission ticket on June 21, aka Father\u2019s Day. This offer must be purchased at the attraction gate.<\/p>\n
